Watch, listen and look at a few of the things we have done.

During Josey’s tenure as a Peer Support responder with the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives, he was given the opportunity to respond to a number of requests for assistance. One of the incidents was a devastating disaster in the town of West Texas. He was incredibly honored to assist some of the first responders who were impacted by the physical and emotional trauma of the event. Several years later a journalist from the Washington Post interviewed Josey as part of an article about the strength and recovery of the people and community of West. Below is a link to the article.

We Stand Witness

Death, loss, and being the witness is an unwelcomed comfort zone for me these days, but being a player and a witness has made me a better soul.  I think I would rather be the player than the witness sometimes. I allow myself to feel your pain and I so want to hold it for a bit to give you a break, but it does not work that way. I stand witness and anticipate the tears or the lack of tears. However the soul cries much harder than any tear duct can imagine. The road, the plan, the dreams seems to slide through our hands like sand. It constantly changes its form, and we stand witness with an overwhelming sense of helplessness. Life is not ours to plan. We are to be a player, and a witness. The moment is time that greets our face is all we have to work with. What happens during that moment in time, to  me, is our purpose. It may not be the parade we thought it would be, but whatever is on the other side of it may be the parade of a lifetime.
